Use Ginger tea to help the common cold, flu, allergies, cough, nausea/vomiting, poor appetite, loose stools, headache and stomachache.
Ingredients and Quantity: Fresh ginger (5-7g), water (1 cup), and sugar (1 tbsp). Method: 1) Mince the fresh ginger into thin small pieces. 2) Combine ginger pieces and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Add the sugar after one minute, and let it dissolve. 3) Remove from heat, and let cool to a comfortably warm temperature for drinking. 4) Drink the tea. You can also eat the ginger pieces for added benefit.
Alternatively, if fresh ginger is not available, it is possible to use ginger powder. The method is similar to the above. Ginger powder (1 tbsp) and sugar (1 tbsp) are mixed together with warm water (2 to 3 oz), and drunk as a tea.
Indications: Use for what traditional Chinese medicine describes as “Wind Cold” conditions, including the common cold, flu, allergies, and some kinds of cough. Other symptoms and conditions that are well-served by drinking ginger tea are nausea and vomiting, poor appetite, loose stools, headache, and stomachache.
