Dr. Yang is pleased to introduce his acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practice

acupuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture balances energy through meridians within the body which re-establish the body’s ability to correct problems related to damage and disease. Usually it requires a sequence of treatments (5-6 or 10-12) done once or twice weekly to restore one’s health or to reverse injury caused by years of chronic pain or illness. The longer and more serious the condition, the longer the treatment process will be required to achieve the greatest benefit.

electro-acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture is one of the most important techniques in acupuncture and is most effective for specific conditions. Commonly used in a variety of conditions involving pain; emotional problems such as stress, anxiety, depression; ADD/ADHD and insomnia; fatigue; addiction withdrawal symptoms; paralysis of limbs; stroke rehabilitation; post concussion syndrome; spinal cord injuries and muscle strain.

Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular Acupuncture (ear points)

Auricular Acupuncture (ear points) is a part of acupuncture. The ear is like a map of body and reflects many disorders in different places of the body. It is used both to evaluate and treat many types of diseases, especially for pain, allergies, and emotional problems like stress, anxiety, and depression. It is also employed as a means of drug and alcohol detoxification for withdrawal symptoms. From clinical observation and research, it has been shown that auricular acupuncture often leads to effective results immediately for some conditions.

Chinese Herbal Therapy

Chinese Herbal Therapy

Chinese Herbal Therapy has been used for thousands years in China to treat a wide variety of diseases. Herbal therapies involve the preparation and use of all-natural plants and minerals as prescribed medicine. Herbs regulate the balance of the body and are a benefit to health through nutrition, as they nourish the body and are assimilated like food.

Cupping

Cupping

Cupping is a special technique for the treatment of problems of local energy or blood stagnation in the channels. It is normally applied following acupuncture for conditions such as asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, digestive problems, pain, fibromyalgia, and stress.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion (moxa)

Moxibustion is the local and focused application of heat to acupoints using a type of compressed, powdered herbs (called moxa), and is often accomplished along with acupuncture. It is often used for conditions of yang deficiency with cold which is commonly associated with diarrhea.

Pediatric Tuina

Pediatric Tuina

Pediatric Tuina is a special type of the traditional Chinese medical therapy. Often used in place of acupuncture if children are reluctant to receive acupuncture treatment. By using special points and techniques, pediatric Tuina is particularly designed to prevent and treat pediatric diseases, especially for children of 12 years old and under; it is most effective for those under 5 to 6 years old. It is a valuable way to treat common problems of children, such as fever, cold, cough, asthma, allergies, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, eating disorders, indigestion, malnutrition, stomach-ache, abdominal pain, rectal prolapse, enuresis, night crying, paralysis, ADD/ ADHD, infantile muscular torticollis.

Tuina

Tuina

Tuina is another part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It looks like soft tissue massage but can be performed for structural adjustment of the body. It is often combined with acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas for the treatment of injury, deformity and chronic disorders of muscle tissues, bones, ligaments and tendons.

Generally, for some conditions, patients find relief after two to three acupuncture sessions. However, to obtain lasting benefits, five to six treatment sessions will typically be required. As for chronic problems, ten to twelve treatment sessions are likely to be necessary. This is considered to be one “course of treatment” for those with severe and many simultaneous issues. For some special conditions, more sessions may be required to achieve relief and to provide the lasting results. Continued treatments help to sustain results.

Specific Herbal Formulas Depending on Individual Conditions

Dr. Yang is now serving Florida with convenient offices in Orlando and Ocala. His practice has expanded thanks to the positive results and beneficial outcomes he has provided to his many patients in the two areas over the past several years. Perhaps he can help you, too.

At your first visit, Dr. Yang will provide consultation, examination, and treatment. During consultation he will ask for detailed information about your health issues. Your medical history and health conditions will be discussed thoroughly. Following this he will perform an examination, and in particular he will read both the pulse and tongue.

From the consultation and examination, Dr. Yang will develop a diagnosis (based on Traditional Chinese Medicine), and suggest the best and most specific treatment plan for addressing each patient’s specific conditions.

Dr. Yang’s Prescriptive Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine has a history of over 2500 years, and has a materia medica that consists of over a thousand plants, minerals, and animal combinations. Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture have stood the “test of time”, and are proven to be safe and effective for many conditions and diseases.

Based on observations made in clinical practice, Chinese herbal formulas are generally more effective than single herbs. Herbal formulas are usually prepared for the specific needs of each patient, and modified as needed as new symptoms emerge. Each formula specifically addresses each individual’s particular state of organ imbalance, and works naturally to re-establish health in the organ systems. It is very important to have a correct clinical diagnosis to find the best formula for each individual patient’s needs when treating diseases.

There are thousands of Chinese herbal formulas, also called “classic formulas”, which were devised by ancient Chinese medical physicians, and are still regularly used in treating many diseases today.
